Ƭhe Wizard of Oz which has been a popular children’s book by L. Frank Baum and is a musical that uses both stunning visual sets with catchy songs to entertain. The book comes to life with all the familiar characters vividly portrayed. Dorothy Gale a teenage girl, lives with her Auntie Em and Uncle Henry on a farm in Kansas. When a tornado comes barreling through her hometown, she and her dog Toto and their house are swept away to Munchkinland. Dorothy meets the tiny people called Munchkins who welcome her to Munchkinland. The Munchkins tell her that her home has landed on the Wicked Witch of the East and has killed her. Dorothy wants to go home and the good witch of the North, Glinda and the Munchkins, tell her to see the Wizard of Oz for help. Glinda gives Dorothy the Ruby Slippers from the Wicked Witch of the East to protect her. The Wicked Witch of the West shows up and threatens Dorothy, because she wants the Ruby Slippers. The Munchkins tell Dorothy, in a lavish song and dance number, to follow the yellow brick road, which would lead her to the Wizard of Oz. On her way to see the Wizard, she makes friends with the Scarecrow, the Tin man, and the Lion. Each of them also needing something important from the Wizard of Oz. The adventures they have are thrilling as they try to escape the clutches of the Wicked Witch of the West and try to send Dorothy back home.
